Cork-based students, we are hosting an information session for prospective applicants to the 2019 Simon Cumbers Media Fund Student Scheme at 2pm on Wednesday, 13th March in Áras na Mac Léinn, Student Centre, Main Campus, UCC, College Road, Cork.
The information session will be attended by a member of the Student Scheme judging panel and former RTÉ broadcaster, Rodney Rice, as well as representatives from Irish Aid and the Fund administrators. They will be on hand to provide details of the 2019 Student Scheme, including the themes and guidelines that must be observed by applicants.
Supported by Irish Aid at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the Student Scheme is designed to give students a greater understanding of the developing world. Successful applicants will be funded to travel to one of Irish Aid’s key partner countries to research and produce a media project focusing on development issues for TheJournal.ie or Newstalk. Students wishing to attend are asked to RSVP to info@simoncumbersmediafund.ie, putting “Cork information session” in the subject line.
The deadline for applications to the 2019 Student Scheme is 5pm on Friday, 22nd March. Click here to read the guidelines and FAQs.
