Are you thinking of applying to our 2019 Student Scheme? You’re invited to attend an information session at 6pm on Wednesday, 20th February at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Iveagh House, 80 St Stephen’s Green.
The information session will be attended by former Student Scheme recipient, Charlotte Ryan, who will share her experience of applying to the Student Scheme, being mentored by a top Irish journalist and travelling to Malawi on assignment. She will be joined by Rodney Rice, former RTÉ broadcaster and a member of the judging panel, and representatives from Irish Aid and the Fund administrators who will provide details of the 2019 Student Scheme, including the themes and guidelines that must be observed by applicants.
Students wishing to attend are asked to RSVP to info@simoncumbersmediafund.ie, putting “Dublin information session” in the subject line.
Supported by Irish Aid at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the Student Scheme is designed to give students a greater understanding of the developing world. Successful applicants will be funded to travel to one of Irish Aid’s key partner countries to research and produce a media project focusing on development issues for TheJournal.ie or Newstalk.
The deadline for applications to the 2019 Student Scheme is 5pm on Friday, 22nd March. Click here to read the guidelines and FAQs.
