Susan Cahill was a recipient of the winter 2013 round of the Simon Cumbers Media Fund. She traveled to Senegal to look at an innovative environmental project, the Great Green Wall of Africa, that is in the process of developing a 15km wide, 8,000km long wall of trees stretching across Africa from Senegal in the West and Djibouti in the East. Susan examines the positive steps that are taking place in Senegal today to fight climate change, food poverty, and child malnutrition.
In the following piece on Newstalk 106-108fm Global Village on Saturday, 29th March 2014, Susan traveled to Brussels to interview Oliver De Schutter, U.N. Special Rapporteur on the Right to Food.
