Fund recipient Sorcha Pollack examined the reasons behind nurses from Kerala leaving Southern India. This is despite the region being held up as one of the best areas in the country in terms of opportunity and education, although violence against women remains a huge problem. Sorcha’s work looked at the migratory patters in the region, the reasons that so many select Ireland and the impact that it is having on Kerela. Appearing online and in print by The Irish Times, the first of Sorcha’s pieces can be read here and the second can be read here. Video content from Sorcha’s project can be viewed here.
