Dan MacCarthy and Clare MacCarthy travelled to Ghana in 2010 to document how international aid was revolutionising the lives of 400,000 school kids and their families in Ghana’s impoverished nothern territories.
While in Ghana, Dan took on another project; interviewing Stanley Quaye, the coach who discovered Chelsea midfielder, Michael Essien. A print article appeared in the Irish Examiner on 3rd January 2011. To view the article, click here.
Dan also met up with Séan Buckley from Skibbereen, Co. Cork who worked as a financial adviser in a micro-finance company in Ghana. In an interview with Séan, Dan highlighted the challenges faced working in micro-financing and his article, West Cork man the biz in Ghana, was published in the County supplement, Irish Examiner on 19th April 2011.
